Internal Kids Internal Evolution Championship Rules

1. Eligibility
All competitors must be registered students of the academy or invited participants approved by the
organizers.
Each athlete must complete the registration form and have a signed parental or guardian
authorization.
Athletes will compete in divisions organized by age, weight, and belt level.

2. Uniform Requirements
• Athletes must wear a clean and proper Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gi.
• The gi must include jacket, pants, and the correct belt.
• No tears or excessively loose uniforms are allowed.
• Undergarments such as rash guards are allowed.
• Fingernails and toenails must be trimmed.

3. Match Duration (Kids Divisions)
• Ages 4–6: 2 minutes
• Ages 7–9: 3 minutes
• Ages 10–13: 4 minutes
• The referee may stop the match early if necessary for safety.

4. Legal Techniques
The following techniques are allowed:
• Takedowns and trips
• Positional control (mount, side control, back control)
• Sweeps
• Guard passes
• Knee on belly
• Submissions allowed:
• Straight arm lock (armbar)
• Collar chokes
• Rear naked choke
• Triangle choke

5. Illegal Techniques
The following techniques are NOT allowed for safety reasons:
• Heel hooks
• Kneebars
• Toe holds
• Calf slicers
• Neck cranks
• Slamming
• Any twisting leg lock
• Any submission that places excessive pressure on the neck or spine

6. Scoring System
• Takedown – 2 points
• Sweep – 2 points
• Knee on belly – 2 points
• Guard pass – 3 points
• Mount – 4 points
• Back control – 4 points
• Advantages may be awarded for near-scoring actions.

7. Winning the Match
A match can be won by:
• Submission
• Points
• Advantages (if points are tied)
• Referee decision (if necessary)

8. Referee Authority
The referee has full authority over the match.]The referee may stop the match to ensure athlete safety.
The referee may disqualify an athlete for unsportsmanlike behavior.

9. Safety
• Athletes must tap clearly when submitting.
• Coaches and referees may stop a submission if the athlete is in danger.
• Any injury must be immediately reported to the referee.

10. Sportsmanship
• All athletes must show respect to their opponents, coaches, referees, and the academy.
• Unsportsmanlike behavior may result in disqualification.
• At the end of each match athletes must shake hands.
